GST registration is mandatory once you cross the turnover threshold or sell across states, on e-commerce platforms, or as a casual taxable person. Here's a clean playbook to get registered without delays.

Who must register

  • Businesses crossing ₹40 lakh (goods) or ₹20 lakh (services) turnover
  • Inter-state sellers of goods
  • E-commerce sellers on Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho and similar
  • Casual taxable persons and non-resident taxable persons

Documents required

  • PAN of the business and proprietor / directors
  • Aadhaar of authorised signatory
  • Business address proof with utility bill
  • Bank account proof (cancelled cheque or statement)
  • Digital signature for companies and LLPs

How the process works

  • File Part A of REG-01 with PAN, mobile and email
  • Complete Part B with business details and documents
  • Aadhaar authentication or physical verification
  • GSTIN issued within 7 working days for clean applications
